Senior Equipment Engineer, WETS

Job summary

STMicroelectronics is seeking an Equipment Owner to drive maintenance improvements for wafer fabrication tools, optimize downtime, and balance cost against performance. You will lead startup, support, maintenance planning, and training for maintenance staff to ensure reliable production.

Responsibilities include vendor coordination, procedures development, PM/CM optimization, and downtime analysis while collaborating with Production and Engineering to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronics/mechanical engineering.
• Min 3 years’ experience in Wet Equipment Spin tool (Semitool SST/Siconnex) or WET Benches.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and block diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with pumping and flow systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork across departments.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge in statistical tools, problem solving tools, FMEA and 8D.
• PLC programming knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage new equipment start up, liaise with vendors, to acceptance of equipment for production.
• Plan, organize and implement technical support and expertise on specific tools to Assistant Maintenance Engineers and Technicians.
• Establish CM procedures and troubleshooting guides to allow efficient troubleshooting.
• Establish PM procedures to achieve best possible Preventive Maintenance efficiency without compromising quality.
• Provide training to Assistant Maintenance Engineers, Technicians to enhance their troubleshooting skills and equipment knowledge.
• Establish critical equipment spares, consumables stock levels to support equipment recovery time.
• Translates the requirements of Production and Engineering needs into maintenance tasks and work closely with them to achieve the overall committed targets in all aspects of manufacturing parameters.
• Participate in cost reduction projects to maintain cost efficiency.
• Generate regular Equipment downtime pareto reports and analyzing for any chronic/repeated issues.

YOUR ROLE

You will take on the role of Equipment owner and implement equipment improvement projects to achieve the best possible maintenance cost per wafer, equipment reliability, wafer fab yield and throughput parameters. Your job scope include:

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronics/mechanical engineering
• Min 3 years’ experience in Wet Equipment Spin tool (Semitool SST/Siconnex) or WET Benches
• Good knowledge in reading and analyzing electrical schematic and block diagrams
• Good hands-on experience in mechanical systems such as pump and flow systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to teamwork within and with other departments
• Familiar with Microsoft office applications
• Good knowledge in statistical tools, problem solving tools, FMEA and 8D
• Knowledge in PLC programming will be an added advantage
