Job summary

A leading environmental consultancy in Singapore is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist. Candidates should have over 10 years of relevant experience and a degree in Environmental Science or Engineering. Responsibilities include conducting environmental impact assessments, managing projects, and liaising with stakeholders. Ideal candidates possess strong project management and analytical skills. Knowledge of hydrology and coastal processes is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the environmental field.
  • Experience managing marine, hydrology/hydraulics and/or terrestrial projects.
  • Knowledge in hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, coastal processes, biodiversity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Job description

Connect Energy partners with a renowned international EPC company to look for a SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST to work in their Singapore office.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake technical work for environmental impact assessments, environmental management and monitoring plans, climate change studies, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and other environmental studies.
  • Deliver high quality deliverables on time and budget that meet Company, its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate resources, schedules, sub-contractors and budgets for medium or large projects.
  • Liaise and communicate with clients, regulatory agencies and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify new project opportunities in line with the teams strategy, and prepare and submit proposals.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross functional team, share knowledge and coach/mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the environmental field.
  • A recognized Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience managing and leading marine, hydrology/hydraulics and/or terrestrial projects.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, coastal processes, biodiversity.
  • Experience with coastal, hydrology/hydraulics modelling or other environmental modelling software would be an advantage.
  • Experience ESG due diligence projects across wide range of sectors.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Able to work with different external stakeholders (e.g. clients, contractors, government agencies, NGOs, etc.).
  • Project management skills would be an advantage.
  • A valid diving license with relevant of diving experience will be an advantage.
