We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Test Specialist with a strong background in environmental testing to lead the setup, accreditation, and operations of a new environmental testing laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and commission a fully functional environmental testing laboratory from scratch, including selection and procurement of appropriate equipment and instrumentation for soil, water, and air testing.
Lead the laboratory to achieve ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation within 6 months, including development and implementation of quality management systems, test procedures, and compliance protocols.
Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of testing services in accordance with regulatory and client requirements.
Build and lead a team of engineers, chemists, and technicians; provide training, guidance, and performance management.
Secure environmental testing contracts and develop new business opportunities by engaging with clients and understanding their needs.
Negotiate testing scopes, timelines, and commercial terms with clients to secure win-win outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and safety requirements.
Liaise with accreditation bodies, regulatory agencies, and customers as required.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in an environmental testing laboratory.
Strong technical knowledge of soil, water, and air sampling and testing procedures.
Proven track record in achieving ISO 17025 accreditation.
Familiarity with environmental standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEA, PUB, EPA).
Demonstrated ability to secure and manage projects/contracts.
Strong leadership, project management, and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
