Principal Accountabilities
- Provide Risk Management professional advice to Project and Programme Managers.
- Apply risk management processes and systems.
- Lead the identification of risks on behalf of the Project Manager, providing independent challenge to the project team and stakeholders.
Role Profile
- Lead retrieval and analysis of background information from Project and Programme Managers, project documentation, environment, and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Research key stakeholders prior to risk workshops to inform risk capture.
- Organise and facilitate risk workshops with relevant team members and external stakeholders to develop the risk register.
- Capture all risks across multiple projects, using techniques like brainstorming, prompt lists, Delphi, and interviews.
- Provide independent challenge during workshops, ensuring comprehensive risk consideration.
- Ensure all risk information is accurately documented in the Risk Register, including owners, actions, categories, assumptions, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage risk management database administration.
- Define project risk appetite and determine risk assessment methods.
- Perform complex Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA) and Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) using industry software.
- Review analysis outputs and advise stakeholders on potential delays or cost increases.
- Contribute as a risk technical specialist in relevant groups.
- Identify and report risk trends, highlighting critical and high risks.
- Monitor risks actively to reduce overall risk profile.
- Produce complex reports and analyses under tight deadlines.
- Prepare periodic risk management reports and updates.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure effective risk management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the Risk Management Department.
Essentials
- 8 to 12 years of experience in risk management within project execution environments.
- Experience in developing QSRA models.
- Knowledge of risk management applications at project and program levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Qualifications: Degree, IRM Diploma/Certificate, APM Risk Certificate, PMI-RMP, MoR Practitioner preferred.
- Membership in professional bodies like IRM or APM is advantageous.
