An established industry player in the oil and gas sector is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Engineer to tackle complex engineering challenges. This role involves identifying and resolving plant instrumentation issues, providing technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with international standards. You will lead projects, conduct feasibility studies, and support maintenance teams, all while working in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
Identify plant engineering issues, recommend and implement solutions to various field
instrumentation and F&G systems
Take lead role in providing high level technical assistance to maintenance teams and recommend
changes to improve performance
Able to read and interpret PLC and DCS logics, Analyzers and Metering systems such as Siemens,
Honeywell, Triconex, Scada etc
Able to troubleshoot plant instrumentation issues like transmitters, control/ON-OFF Valves, F&G
detectors of major manufacturers in oil and gas industries
Conduct feasibility studies of instrumentation for a cost-effective solutions to address issues like
frequent failures, obsolescence, and new technology upgrades
Provide instrumentation-engineering support for minor and major projects, carry out review of
project drawings, design specifications, data sheets and documents
Preparing engineering package for minor instrumentation, F&G in house modifications, and provide
execution support to maintenance
Review instrument maintenance history, recommend preventive maintenance requirements, and
equipment strategies for reliable instrument functions
Demonstrate working level knowledge of anti-surge control system, speed control system, steam
turbine control system, compressor control system, variable frequency drives etc
Understand international (IEEE, IEC, AGA, ISA etc) standards and company instrumentation
specifications, carries out instrument sizing calculation and able to use related software tools
Provide instrument support for Root Cause Analysis, Risk assessments, Hazop, SIL Study etc
Working experience on SIL requirements, certification as functional safety engineer is preferable
Requirements:
Degree in Instrument and Control with at least 7 years’ experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical
Industry.
Experience in a Gas Plant such as Gasification/SMR/ASU is an advantage
Basic knowledge of Computer and Microsoft office
Basic knowledge of SAP Enterprise Asset Management system
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Strong leadership and organization abilities
Excellent written and communication skills in English to work closely with respective functions
