Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Technician specializing in fibre and telecom systems. Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Quick problem solver with irregular hours capability.
• Strong foundation in fibre and telecom transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle faults, troubleshoot equipment, and restore services efficiently.
• Plan site work including installations and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor network health and support emergency cable rerouting.

Job description

Working hours:

Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm

Sat, 9am - 1pm

Job description:

* Handle faults, troubleshoot fibre/network equipment, and restore services fast

* Plan and carry out site work: surveys, installations, testing, and preventive maintenance

* Monitor network equipment health and take action when needed

* Support urgent cable rerouting and be on standby for emergency work

* Coordinate with contractors and planners for equipment recovery/shutdowns

* Use tools like OTDR, power meters to isolate fibre faults

Job requirements:

* O/A Level, or ITE inmechanical engineering / electrical engineering or equivalent OR Engineering in the grade of Engineering Officer (Technician) or equivalent

* Strong understanding of fibre and telecom transmission systems (e.g. GPON, SDH)

* Hands-on with testing tools and good at fibre troubleshooting

* Quick problem-solver, team player, and able to work irregular hours/on-call
