Job summary

ST Engineering in Singapore is seeking a Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin) to design, build, test, and maintain native Android apps. You will collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful services, implement modern UI with Jetpack Compose, and contribute to code quality and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires hands-on programming, strong Kotlin fundamentals, and a proactive, independent work style. You will participate in agile sprints, contribute to documentation, and help deliver

Qualifications

• 2 years of Android development experience (Kotlin) preferred.
• Strong Kotlin fundamentals (coroutines, flows, null safety).
• Experience with Android Jetpack components and UI development.

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin
• Build modern, responsive UIs using Jetpack Compose and Android UI frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs and services
• Participate in Agile development cycles (sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives)
• Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance application performance and reliability
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and testing
• Conduct unit testing, UI testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Continuously improve app quality through monitoring, feedback, and iteration
• Document technical designs and implementation details

Qualities We Value

• 2 years of experience in Android development (Kotlin) preferred
• Strong understanding of Kotlin fundamentals (e.g. coroutines, flows, null safety)
• Experience with Android Jetpack components (e.g. ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Navigation)
• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose or modern Android UI development
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling JSON data
• Knowledge of Git version control
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile practices
• Familiar with DevOps is value added
• Must be hands-on and enjoy programming.
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
• Able to work independently and self-motivated.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
