A leading marine engineering firm in Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform 2D and 3D designs, lead project sections, and ensure compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in machinery/piping design and strong skills in AutoCAD, honing the technical capabilities of the team.
Position Summary
Perform mechanical designs (2D & 3D) independently and lead the section in projects.
Assist the Section Project Lead in day-to-day operations.
Perform assigned mechanical tasks under quality standards and schedule.
Advise on the project's design mode and standards.
Follow new regulations, rules, products, and standards.
Report daily project discipline metrics (Man-hour, Schedule, etc.).
Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with overall project team progress.
Provide feedback on design modes and standards.
Train and guide other project mechanical engineers, AE, or draftsmen to work collaboratively.
Study and resolve mechanical project issues.
Report project design data (Object amount).
Participate in and report at project and section meetings.
Complete assigned tasks related to project drawings or documentation.
Prepare and review marine machinery/piping calculations, specifications, and vendor drawings.
Prepare and review marine machinery/piping 2D arrangements, schematics, and submissions.
Prepare and review marine machinery/piping 3D models and related drawings/supports for production and site.
Support the Project Section Lead with mechanical technical issues.
Coordinate with shipyards, consultants, vendors, etc.
Report to the Mechanical Project Section Lead/Mechanical Technical Lead.
Handle projects such as new builds, repairs, upgrades, and conversions.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in machinery/piping design in the marine/offshore industry.
At least 2 years of experience as a senior engineer or above.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and AVEVA.
Familiarity with class rules and statutory requirements.
Good knowledge of machinery, piping, and HVAC design.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
