A leading company in tech infrastructure is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to advance their data center technologies. The role includes designing CAD models, conducting simulations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize cooling systems. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in mechanical engineering, specifically tailored for industrial applications and data centers.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of mechanical systems for containerized data centers and AI server infrastructure. This role involves CAD design, thermal and structural simulation, and the integration of high-power liquid cooling solutions to support next-generation data center technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design 2D/3D CAD models for mechanical containers, chassis, and components used in data center environments.
Perform CAE modelling, including structural and thermal simulations, to validate mechanical integrity and heat dissipation.
Support high-power testing using AC/DC sources ranging from kilowatts to megawatts, ensuring mechanical systems can withstand operation loads.
Develop and implement liquid cooling solutions capable of dissipating >100kW of heat, optimized for high-density server racks.
Conduct design verification and evaluation tests based on mechanical performance and compliance with international standards.
Prepare detailed analysis reports summarizing test results, design evaluations, and compliance findings.
Maintain and update test requirements in accordance with the latest IEC, EN, UL, and IPC standards.
Ensure mechanical designs meet TIA-942 and Tier III data center specifications.
Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in data center or industrial applications.
Strong understanding of TIA-942 standards and Tier III data center infrastructure.
Familiarity with IEC/EN/IPC compliance and testing procedures.
Proven experience in containerized mechanical design for data centers.
Proficient in using high-power test equipment and simulation tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with liquid cooling systems, thermal management, and modular data center design.
Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainability practices in mechanical engineering.
Familiarity with AI server infrastructure and high-density computing environments.
