Reporting to Plant Mechanical Manager, this position is responsible for leading site mechanical contractor team in providing engineering services to support safe and stable plant operation and ensuring all mechanical maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and according to local regulations and HSE requirements at plant site.
Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule and manage routine and shutdown maintenance works to ensure safe and stable plant operations
Lead and manage site mechanical contractor team and ensure daily, periodical and shutdown maintenance works are carried out safely, timely and efficiently
Respond to plant emergency calls and resolve mechanical troubles within short time frame
Review and conduct technical investigation of mechanical equipment’s problems, evaluate findings, prepare analysis reports and recommend countermeasures to enhance equipment’s reliability
Develop, review and implement Risk Assessment for all mechanical work activities
Manage fixed assets and stocks movement, and follow up on purchase request and delivery
Plan annual mechanical budget, and monitor and update monthly expenditure
Identify and develop cost control strategies and cost savings programs
Establish and maintain maintenance system to comply with requirements of Safety Management System
Develop, review and implement mechanical maintenance procedures to improve equipment maintenance methodology
Prepare, update and maintain proper maintenance records and reports in the system according to plant site’s requirements
Participate in Engineering audits and site safety programs and ensure mechanical activities comply with required rules and regulations
Provide guidance and conduct training for junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise
Attend plant site meetings and undertake any other duties assigned by superiors from time to time
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Petrochemicals industry
Experience in polymer plant and extruder maintenance would be advantageous
Self-motivated, independent and resourceful
Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills
Possess good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
High sense of responsibility and commitment
Dynamic individual who is able to work under pressure and perform overtime work
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Willing to rotate between manufacturing plants within Jurong Island depending on work arrangement
