Job description

Broad Function

The Engineer shall report to the Manager in the execution and management of Logistic & Automation engineering systems such as Pneumatic Tube System (PTS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Pneumatic Waste & Linen Chute System (PWLCS), Food Waste Treatment Vacuum System (FWTVS), and non-clinical equipment like Centralised Sterilised Supplies Department Equipment and Food Services Department Equipment. The Engineer shall support the auditing and monitoring of prescribed KPIs for maintenance services provided by specialist vendors and outsourced service providers.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Oversee and manage preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as coordination work for logistic and automation engineering systems.
2. Manage the performance of outsourced maintenance service providers and specialist vendors to ensure high maintenance standards.
3. Ensure prompt service recovery for equipment and system breakdowns to minimize hospital service disruptions.
4. Provide advisory support to the maintenance team in addressing, rectifying, and troubleshooting specialized system failures. Recommend technology refreshes, upgrades, and end-of-life renewals.
5. Prepare technical specifications, drawings for system improvements, and cost estimates.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).

Job Requirements

Education / Training / Experience

1. Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering Degree with 0-4 years of relevant experience for Engineer position.
2. Degree holders with 5-6 years of experience or Diploma holders with at least 10 years of relevant experience for Senior Engineer position.
3. Experience in healthcare settings is advantageous.
4. Experience managing electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or automation systems and facilities operations, including improvement projects, is a plus.
