Job summary

A leading company in marine engineering is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee project execution and resource management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and experience in the marine industry, focusing on productivity, quality, and safety standards. This role involves coordinating with various departments, monitoring work performance, and ensuring compliance with regulations while managing project timelines effectively.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
  • 4-5 years of working experience preferred, but open to fresh graduates.
  • Experience in the marine industry or related fields.

  • Monitor job quality, progress, and productivity.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety reporting.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Productivity

  • Deploy and effective utilization of manpower and material resources in the department. In addition, liaising with other departments on daily production schedule.
  • Generate and monitor drawings/ technical information issuing schedule
  • Attend assigned project progress and HAT meeting
  • Assess staff work performance under his charge as required
  • Identify training needs for his men
  • Monitor job quality, progress, man hours, and productivity of the assigned job.
  • Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department. He also needs to explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.
  • Liaise with owners representative and/or class surveyor during witness/inspection
  • Plan & execute to meet the project schedule and department budget.
  • Plan & withdraw department consumables required for project.

Quality

  • Evaluate technical/ engineering requirements of the jobs, and review drawings.
  • Resolve any technical problems or issues with OEM/ class/ owner on site.
  • Monitor and ensure quality work is produced at targeted schedule

Safety

  • Attend assigned project VSCC meeting (if applicable)
  • Conduct RA assessment/ BBS observation/ hazard reporting/ Incident & Accident reporting
  • Participate in department safety work plan
  • Conduct activities which met regulatory requirements like tools expiry check, protection etc
  • Able to plan with his resources for his project and complete in time

Requirement:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Marine & Offshore engineering
  • Preferably 4 5 years of working experiences
  • Candidates with no experience may apply
  • Work in marine industry or similar capacity
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding and repair standard
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specification
  • SRM (Ship Repair Manager) certificate
  • Knowledge of different welding methods/ WPS/ PQR and NDT methods

  • Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5 days work week
  • Working Hours: 7.25am5pm
