Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to support global water and waste construction engineering for semiconductor facility projects.

You will cover design through commissioning, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and quality while driving sustainability and operational excellence. The role involves leading design reviews, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and applying AI-enabled methods to optimize project performance across US and Asia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Construction Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years in engineering, 5+ years on water/waste construction in EPCM settings.
  • Experience with water/wastewater systems design and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead water and waste construction engineering across the full project lifecycle.
  • Drive delivery of large-scale fab projects meeting scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Review and validate designs for compliance with standards and project requirements.
  • Provide technical support to resolve construction and design issues.
  • Monitor progress and resolve technical challenges promptly.
  • Contribute to cost estimates, schedules, and business justifications.
  • Coordinate consultants and contractors for aligned execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project alignment.
  • Communicate updates and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and support BKMs and continuous improvement.
  • Support sustainability programs and capacity planning across sites.
  • Apply AI-assisted tools to improve analysis and decision-making.

Senior Engineer - Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction (Water & Waste)
Job Summary

Provide water and waste construction engineering support for semiconductor facility projects across the U.S. and Asia, covering the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning and handover. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards, while supporting global consistency, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead water and waste construction engineering across project lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning, and handover)
  • Drive delivery of large-scale fab projects in alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
  • Review and validate water, wastewater, and environmental system designs to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and project requirements
  • Provide technical support to resolve construction, installation, and design issues
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure timely resolution of technical challenges
  • Support development of project cost estimates, schedules, and business justifications
  • Coordinate consultants and contractors to ensure effective and aligned project execution
Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (facilities, procurement, manufacturing, operations, IT) to ensure project alignment
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to development and standardization of Best Known Methods (BKMs)
  • Support sustainability programs, particularly water conservation, waste reduction, and environmental compliance
  • Support capacity planning and infrastructure optimization across global sites
AI Responsibilities
  • Apply AI-assisted tools to improve engineering analysis, system optimization, and project execution efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data and AI for enhanced decision-making and environmental system performance
  • Share and adopt AI-enabled best practices to support continuous improvement
Candidate Profile / Job Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years supporting construction projects as a Water or Waste Engineer.
  • Experience in designing water and wastewater systems engineering, including treatment, distribution, and waste handling systems.
  • Experience working in EPCM project environments.
  • Expertise in construction project execution and project controls, including cost, schedule, and risk management.
  • Experience reviewing engineering designs and validating regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
