Job description

Job Responsibilities

You will oversee a team of engineers to manage the functions of the Facilities and Biomedical Equipment department. The department supports the operations of the institution by ensuring that the facilities and equipment is maintained at optimal standards. You will be responsible for the department’s KPIs and performance, and ensure that the required operational support is provided to the user departments in a timely fashion and to the high standard expected.

You will work closely with the user departments and other supporting departments to ensure the timely procurement, installation (including renovation) and commissioning, maintenance and disposal of all biomedical equipment. You will manage the equipment asset lifecycle, work with users on the replacement or purchase of new equipment including the drafting of technical specifications and evaluating purchase proposals, ensure timely equipment patches and software upgrade to minimize equipment downtime. You will ensure that service contracts are renewed timely and in place for the proper and timely maintenance of all equipment. You will manage the biomedical equipment management system to ensure that all institution asset details are properly accounted for in the system.

Job Requirements
  • Recognised Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or its equivalent
  • 6 years’ experiencein business operations and project management especially in large establishment or in an institution preferably in healthcare industry will be an advantage
  • Independent and resourceful
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
