Job description

What you will be working on:

1. Managing and maintaining the Geographical Information System (GIS) based sewerage information and mapping systems.
2. Ensuring that the information in the sewerage information and mapping systems is complete, accurate and up to date. This includes making sense of the information in building plans and sewerage drawings, carrying out audit checks on data entered into the system, retrieving old records/reports/files to extract relevant data, etc.
3. Implementing system enhancements to develop new features, functionalities, and workflows to improve the use of information in the systems (e.g., generation of reports on sewerage statistics) to better support departmental work functions.
4. Coordinating with other departments, agencies, and organizations to link the sewerage information and mapping system with other IT systems, enhancing data sharing for relevant use cases.
5. Scanning for advancements in GIS, mapping, and modeling technology to improve the sewerage information and mapping systems, and assessing their suitability for the Department.
6. Maintaining the hardware and software of sewerage information and mapping systems and related components, which may involve calling tenders/quotations and processing payments for maintenance works or services.

What we are looking for:

• A recognized engineering degree, preferably in Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS is an advantage.
• Systemic thinking and good analytical skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
