Job description

  • Location : Willingness to travel between Tampines and Woodland
  • Working Hours : 5 days per week (Mon to Fri: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Willingness to commit to extended hours when required

Job Description:

  • Assist in planning and execution of chemical systems design for cleanroom and high-tech manufacturing facilities (e.g., semiconductor fabs)
  • Coordinate with internal teams (mechanical, electrical, architectural) and external stakeholders such as clients, vendors, and contractors
  • Develop engineering design documents for chemical distribution systems including bulk/specialty gas systems, chemical waste treatment, and delivery systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental health and safety (EH&S) guidelines, and local codes (e.g., NFPA, SEMI, FM Global)
  • Assist in preparation of P&IDs, flow diagrams, material balances, and equipment sizing
  • Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of chemical systems
  • Conduct inspections to verify construction quality and specification compliance
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of site-related engineering issues
  • Provide technical input during procurement and construction phases
  • Review and approve equipment/vendor drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and timely delivery
  • Ensure chemical system designs integrate safety features like leak detection, ventilation, and containment
  • Conduct HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and support EHS audits
  • Prepare documentation including design reports, method statements, and commissioning reports
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure seamless handover to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients and stakeholders
  • Any other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in chemical systems design or process engineering, preferably in the semiconductor or pharmaceutical industries
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and chemical process modeling tools
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards and local regulatory codes
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, construction site environment
  • The candidate must be fluent in both Mandarin and English to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Candidates with good experience will be considered for a higher role, and the salary will be commensurate accordingly
