Job description:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support and solutions for the Production and Maintenance teams regarding instrument-related issues.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to reduce instrument maintenance costs and improve availability and functionality.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, on gas pipeline networks, electrical power grids, and instrument and metering interfaces to ensure compliance.
- Update and maintain instrument maintenance procedures for all instruments, PLC, Fire & Gas systems, ESD, metering, CCTV, and security equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis for instrument-related incidents and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
- Lead MOCs projects to improve instrument reliability and address operational issues from engineering, construction, to commissioning phases.
- Verify, inspect, test, and report on electrical and instrument equipment used in maintenance, ensuring certification for hazardous areas.
- Support maintenance activities and major equipment turnarounds at the terminal.
- Manage the functional safety lifecycle of SIS in the Terminal.
- Support expansion projects, ensuring overall facility integrity and seamless integration with existing plant systems.
- Participate in emergency response activities and assume specific roles as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Professional accreditation or membership with engineering bodies is advantageous.
- At least 8 years of practical experience in instrument & control maintenance or design in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
- Knowledge of local codes, regulations, submission procedures, and international electrical & instrument engineering standards.
- Experience in functional safety per IEC 61511; certification as a functional safety engineer is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical, instrument, and control equipment.
- Proficiency with PLC programming software and languages; experience with Siemens PLCs is an advantage.
