Job description

Reporting to the Group Facilities Management institution lead, you will oversee the AirCon Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) and Mechanical System serving the Hospital Premises.

This includes working closely with service partners on Preventive Maintenance, Capex Projects, and all contracts related to Specialist vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, modification, and replacement of hospital facilities, M&E services, and non-clinical equipment.
  • Ensure outsourced maintenance agents meet KPIs and maintain building systems' functionality and serviceability at all times.
  • Audit and monitor maintenance standards provided by vendors and outsourced service providers to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
  • Support and manage cyclical and improvement projects for systems and building infrastructure.
  • Oversee outsourced M&E team performance, ensuring maintenance standards and planned PM schedules are met.
  • Audit and monitor critical systems maintained by vendors vital to hospital operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee improvement projects, upgrading systems and equipment through MOH and hospital-funded initiatives.
  • Act as Project Manager for hospital facility improvement works, including renovations and retrofitting, or be part of the hospital's project team.
  • Provide technical advisory and support for addressing system failures, troubleshooting, and recommending replacements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and work schedules for projects.
  • Support external consultants during project execution, inspections, and acceptance activities.
  • Ensure outsourced teams adhere to safety practices, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Ensure prompt service recovery for equipment/system breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Raise and prepare work requisitions for breakdowns and replacements.
  • Assist in fire safety, security planning, and preparedness matters.
  • Enforce house rules and conduct site inspections.
  • Support campus infrastructure development projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the HOD.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing ACMV/M&E services in healthcare settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on M&E knowledge and experience.
  • Fire Safety Manager/Officer certification or relevant experience is advantageous.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
  • Customer service orientation and proactive approach.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Degree holders with at least 3 years of experience in managing civil & building services, facilities operations, and improvement projects.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Relevant fire safety certification is advantageous.
