Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to design, modify and evaluate embedded firmware and programmable logic for complex electronic devices.

The role requires a BS or MS in EE/CS and at least three years of real-time embedded software experience, with hands-on VHDL, FPGA/CPLD design and HDL coding. Familiarity with testing equipment, revision control, and Altium is desirable for seamless product development.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of real-time embedded software design experience.
• Hands-on VHDL experience for CPLD/FPGA.
• Experience with HDL coding directly (Verilog/VHDL).
• Knowledge of SPI interfaces and PCB-level diagnostics.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Experience with revision control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work in basic and applied R&D, development, and/or design of new products or sustaining existing products.
• Uses equipment to analyze operating data and conduct experimental tests.
• Design product architectures to meet specific parameters, addressing timing, algorithms, and interfaces.
• Provide detailed technical documentation verifying feasibility of designs.
• Manage projects including performance, requirements, budget, and schedule.
