Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in designing, developing, and integrating high-voltage power supplies, laser drivers, thermal controllers, safety interlocks, and other control electronics for cutting-edge laser and electro-optic systems.
- Handle prototyping, testing, and the integration of sensors, diagnostics, and safety modules.
- Conduct PCB design, perform simulations, review layouts, and troubleshoot issues during prototyping, integration, and system validation phases.
- Ensure all designs meet EMI/EMC compliance and maintain signal integrity.
- Work closely with system, mechanical, software, and optical engineers to guarantee that electrical and electronic designs fulfill performance and operational requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed, accurate technical documentation, including design records, test reports, and validation data, aligned with configuration management and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience working with power electronics and control systems in advanced laser or electro-optic applications.
- Proficiency in PCB design and simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PSpice, and LTSpice.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, analog and digital circuitry, and thermal management techniques.
- Strong expertise in laser drivers, power conditioning, and electronics tailored to advanced laser or electro-optic systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of laser safety standards and EMI/EMC best practices is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and debugging abilities to support fast-paced development and testing cycles.
- Capability to balance design robustness with quick prototyping for research and development purposes.
- Strong documentation skills and systems thinking to ensure traceability and configuration control.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines during integration and testing.
- Ability to work cooperatively in multidisciplinary teams to achieve common goals.
- Skilled in analytical troubleshooting both in laboratory settings and field environments.
