Senior/ Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer assists and reports to the Senior Engineering Manager in the day-to-day product development research and testing activities including documenting its processes.

Design electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial FMCG products and their applications. The person will design, plan, test, and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance, as well as supervising the production process to ensure its performance and quality.

The incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordination of the entire production process, including managing staffing, coaching and training, scheduling production runs, ensuring adequate materials are available, and ensuring electrical components are in good working condition in support of demand/delivery schedules.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop state-of-the-art products for current and new market segments.
• Translate product requirements into hardware design.
• Ensure seamless transition of products from design to manufacturing.
• Possess sound knowledge of EE hardware and software design and development processes.

1. Hardware (PCBA)

• Schematic/PCBA design verification
• Gerber release, PCB fabrication, PCBA build
• Board bring-up, testing, debugging, and fixes
• Safety and regulatory agencies certification
• BOM, reports, documentation, and file releases
• Familiarity with Altium Designer is an added advantage.

Software (Firmware)

• Development of embedded software and real-time control systems.
• Engage in test-driven firmware development.
• Create, design, and develop test specifications for new systems software.
• Conduct testing, including firmware/hardware interactions on the device system level.
• Familiarity with firmware development for embedded hardware platforms (Arduino, ESP-IDF, ARM32/64) is an added advantage.

• Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment and components.
• Build and assemble electrical components; solicit observations during production.
• Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods, testing finished products, and evaluating product capabilities and user experience.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide engineering information and solutions for devices.
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Establish procedures for end-users to request repair services.
• Complete projects by providing training and guidance to technicians.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Able to adopt a philosophy of continual improvement and constantly identify/propose higher efficiency and increased quality of the finished product.
• Ability to troubleshoot any problems that occur in the production process.
• Other ad-hoc assignments by superior.

Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of schematic design and PCB layout experience.
• Experience in designing electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms. Board design in an R&D environment will be an added advantage.
• Experience with electromechanical, thermal, and power management is preferred.
• Experience with software/firmware programming, design specifications, requirements, and verification and validation.
• Project Management, Quality Focus, Database Design, and analyzing information skills.
• Efficiency in reporting research results, attentive to detail, emphasizing excellence in innovation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
