Job summary

oceanstar elite engineering groups pte. ltd. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and integration for FPSO/FSO and related offshore projects.

You will drive design deliverables across topsides, hull, and marine systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specs. The role requires 8–12 years in oil & gas offshore EPC, with offshore or shipyard experience, strong study capabilities (load flow, short circuit, arc flash), and proven vendor management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12 years of electrical engineering in oil & gas / FPSO / offshore EPC.
• Offshore or shipyard experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash, motor starting, harmonic analysis).
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and specifications.
• Skilled in vendor package management and technical bid clarifications.
• Strong understanding of hazardous area classification and explosion-proof equipment selection.
• Excellent written and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical design and documentation for FPSO topsides, hull, and marine systems.
• Prepare, review and approve design basis, datasheets, single line diagrams, load list and analysis, power system studies, electrical equipment sizing, cable sizing and routing layouts.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ATEX and classification society requirements.
• Review 3D modelling and vendor data.
• Support procurement activities including TBE, vendor clarifications and FAT/SAT.
• Support site activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior electrical engineers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure electrical system integration.
• Act as Electrical lead in projects as required.

Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, and integration of electrical systems for FPSO/FSO/FPU/FSRU/CPP projects. This role ensures that electrical deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements across all project phases from FEED to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical engineering design and documentation for FPSO topsides, hull, and marine systems.
• Prepare, review and approve design basis, specification, datasheet, single line diagrams, load list and analysis, power system studies, electrical equipment sizing, cable sizing and cable routing layouts etc.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ATEX, and international standards, as well as classification society requirements.
• Review 3D modelling and vendor data.
• Support procurement activities including TBE, vendor clarification and FAT/SAT.
• Support site activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and trouble shooting as required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior electrical engineers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Process, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, Telecom, Piping, Safety etc.,) to ensure integration of electrical systems.
• Assigned as Electrical lead in project as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 8-12 years of electrical engineering experience in the oil & gas / FPSO / offshore EPC industry.
• Prior offshore or shipyard experience
