Job summary

Staffhub Group in Singapore seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead electrical panel design and PLC programming for generator and fuel system projects. You will read tender specs, draw electrical layouts in AutoCAD, and drive design excellence from proposal through to commissioning.

The role involves design calculations, BOM preparation, shop drawings, and collaboration with project and service teams. Training peers on PLCs and controllers is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and implements innovations and cost reductions for electrical panel and programming of PLC.
• Increases new revenue streams by introducing more compatible and cheaper controller and PLC for generator and fuel system projects.
• Performs programming for Generator controller and PLC controller.
• Reads customer specifications from tender documents.
• Draws AutoCAD drawings for electrical according to specification.
• Reduces modification work at site by improving electrical drawings.
• Amends, revises and updates drawings as commented by clients through the Project Manager/Coordinator/Supervisor.
• Performs design calculations after project award.
• Prepares PowerPoint slides and attends client meetings and consultations.
• Explains to site coordinator about cable termination.
• Carries out testing, commissioning, simulation and troubleshooting with testers as needed.
• Prepares Shop and As-built drawings as advised by the Project Manager for timely submission to client/consultant/architect.
• Archives drawings systematically for easy retrieval.
• Prepares bill of materials for procurement after design is completed and approved.
• Writes reports and compiles data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
• Supports service team and project team.
• Gives training on controllers and PLCs to engineers and testers
