A leading petrochemical company in Singapore is seeking a qualified Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to support maintenance and optimization of E&I systems in its plant. Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-7 years of relevant experience in E&I engineering within petrochemical, chemical processing, or oil & gas industries.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and Singapore Standards (SS), including MOM regulations.

  • Perform daily maintenance activities, plant turnaround (TAR), and shutdown activities.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of E&I systems across our petrochemical plant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Control & Automation Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience:

· Minimum 4-7 years of relevant experience in E&I engineering within petrochemical, chemical processing, or oil & gas industries.

· Proven experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems in hazardous industrial environments.

· Prior involvement in daily maintenance activities, plant turnaround (TAR), shutdown activities, and reliability improvement projects.

Technical Competencies:

· Proficient in electrical distribution systems (LV/MV), motor controls, switchgears, transformers, and protective relays.

· Solid knowledge of process instrumentation, field transmitters, analyzers, and control valve systems.

· Hands-on experience with DCS (preferably Yokogawa Centum VP), including logic modifications, graphics updates, and control strategy enhancements.

· Familiar with PLC (Omron and Mitsubishi) and communication protocols (HART, Modbus, etc.).

· Skilled in reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop drawings, hook-up diagrams, and single-line diagrams.

· Familiar with loop checks, instrument calibration, logic testing, and system commissioning activities.

· Understanding of Ex installations in hazardous areas and compliance with IEC 60079, ATEX, or NEC standards.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

· Strong working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and Singapore Standards (SS), including MOM regulations.

· Experience with permit-to-work (PTW), Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), and process safety management systems.

· Knowledge of functional safety requirements (IEC 61511) and SIL classification is an added advantage.

Software & Tools Proficiency:

· Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.

· Familiarity with SAP.
