Senior Director Strategic Pricer
This is an individual contributor role serving as a key financial and commercial advisor to deal teams. The role requires the ability to develop deal strategies, structure deals, guide, and lead client negotiations. It demands functional expertise in deal modeling, risk assessment, mitigation strategy development, and stakeholder management. The position acts as the financial representative both internally and externally with clients and advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake financial structuring and analysis of deals to meet Cognizant's business objectives.
- Craft pricing models, assess deal P&L, cash flow, metrics, and financial viability; identify potential risks throughout the bid lifecycle from qualification to deal closure.
- Lead the deal team during the sales cycle, analyzing and recommending financial strategies and solutions.
- Engage in deal shaping and formulate winning sales strategies.
- Support client negotiations on financial and commercial terms to secure contracts that deliver expected returns while addressing customer drivers.
- Collaborate with deal teams, FP&A, Tax, technical accounting, and other relevant areas.
- Contribute to financial materials for internal deal governance.
- Maintain work products and reports on KPIs, progress, and metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Cognizant’s processes and policies, including toolsets.
- Validate commercial and financial terms, evaluate risks to revenue and margins.
- Promote the use of standardized tools and methodologies.
- Support regional and global pricing initiatives.
- Ensure internal customer satisfaction with the pricing team’s performance.
- Align overall pricing strategy with business needs and imperatives.
Mandatory Capabilities/Skills/Experience
- 16+ years of experience in pricing/finance, with experience in pricing deals.
- Strong business acumen and stakeholder interaction skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, demonstrate leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of finance functions impacting revenue recognition, pricing, and contractual terms.
- Experience coaching and mentoring associates.
- Proficiency in Excel and related tools for supporting large transactions.
- Experience presenting and negotiating with clients on commercial propositions and contractual terms.
Preferred Capabilities/Skills/Experience
- Experience working overseas, aiding stakeholder management.
