A leading company in electronic materials is seeking a Senior Director to spearhead business development, marketing, and product management in the B2B sector across Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and extensive experience in global operations, particularly in technology manufacturing environments. This role involves driving growth by implementing effective strategies, cultivating industry relationships, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
The Senior Director is responsible for leading the organisation’s (Product Management), Business Development, and Marketing functions, with a primary focus on B2B markets in Southeast Asia, India, Japan, Korea and China. This role drives the development and execution of strategies to expand the company’s business portfolio, strengthen its market position, and foster sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Formulate and implement business development strategies tailored to B2B opportunities, enhancing the organisation’s current portfolio and identifying new avenues for growth.
Build and nurture strong relationships with a diverse network of corporate clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to assess market demand and introduce innovative solutions.
Oversee and marketing activities, and corporate communications, to elevate the organisation’s presence in the B2B sector.
Direct research on market trends, target buyer and seller landscapes, and geographical developments relevant to B2B markets, leveraging commercial insights to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborate with each regional teams to analyse and compare different market dynamics, ensuring the organisation remains competitive.
Mentor and guide direct reports, providing strategic direction on marketing plans and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
Continuously seek to enhance marketing approaches and stay updated with the latest B2B marketing technologies and best practices.
This position requires a proactive, self-motivated leader with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to succeed in dynamic B2B environments.
Critical Work Functions:
Provide strategic leadership and marketing planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with AP business growth objectives and sales priorities.
Identify key market opportunities, target segments (such as semiconductor fabs, OSATs, and equipment vendors), and prioritize high-value accounts for targeted marketing.
Monitor industry trends, technological advancements (e.g., 5G, AI, IoT), and competitor activities to refine positioning and maintain market relevance.
Lead Generation, Demand Generation, and Pipeline Nurturing
Design and implement integrated, multi-channel lead generation campaigns to fill the sales funnel with qualified leads.
Develop and optimize lead nurturing programs, leveraging marketing automation and CRM tools to convert prospects at every stage of the buyer journey.
Support account-based marketing (ABM) strategies, focusing on personalized campaigns for strategic semiconductor accounts.
Product Management
Manage product lifecycle, including development, strategy, positioning, pricing, and ensuring product meets market needs
Work closely with R&D, and operations to ensure products fits AP strategy and customer demands
Sales Alignment and Enablement
Ensure marketing and Product Management efforts are aligned, supporting revenue targets, and providing tailored content, tools, and insights for effective sales pitches.
Customer Retention and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, technical partners, and industry leaders to foster long-term business growth.
Explore new business opportunities
Lead new business opportunity initiatives based on business network feedback and economic landscape
Endorse due diligence reports and regulatory restrictions on new business ventures
Formalise new business agreements with identified partners, suppliers and vendors
Direct approach to drive cost-benefit analysis and financial modelling of new business ventures
Lead new business ventures and strategies on business ventures approaches and market entries
Drive product and/or product offerings research initiatives to understand and predict future impacts on product offerings and production
Develop business development strategies
Establish business development strategies to ensure alignment with overall organisational strategy
Lead development of business intelligence frameworks to improve data analytics, predictive modelling and market assessments
Guide business development research reports on potential revenue streams and business threats to inform business development strategies
Lead local and/or regional team discussions to finalise decisions on business development pursuits
Enhance current business portfolio
Lead collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for portfolio enhancement
Lead identification of cross functional opportunities to optimise business processes
Drive identification and implementation of new technologies to enhance business portfolio and optimise business processes
Endorse demand creation strategies and new product service offerings to improve revenue streams and meet market demands
Lead relationship building with industry players and develop strategies to leverage network for business opportunities and partnerships
Oversee effective cash flow management across the organisation to aid business growth and operation
Guide finance teams to identify areas for cost and expense reduction
Lead working capital management and expenditure
Advise on the role of sustainability to improve environmental, social and financial business performance
Requirements:
MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business administration or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years in general management roles
At least 8 years background in global business operations with experience in different regions (e.g., AP, the Americas, etc)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the electronic materials field
Possess a strategic mindset paired with exceptional execution capabilities
Experience leading teams of professionals across multiple functions
Proven track record managing P&L responsibilities of more than 100 million in manufacturing, or related sectors.
Experience with multiple industries, particularly in technology-oriented manufacturing environments
Proven success in business transformation and market repositioning
Track record in developing marketing opportunities and revenue streams
