Job description

You will be a key member responsible to provide support in leading Engineering practices and DC development, assisting in standardization of DC design and built across the region. As the Senior Director, Regional Engineering, you will work closely with a team of SME on the following duties:

  • Lead a team of engineering specialists to execute various projects and oversee multiple functions such as engineering studies, site feasibility studies, new technology & construction methodology research.

  • High involvement in green and brown field projects such as site selection, set up project teams, engagement of consulting team, and oversee design and tender award, construction process, etc.

  • Lead a team in DC development that requires liaison with management team and stakeholders to prepare necessary documents for business case preparation and presentation.

  • Shortlist and engage best in class consultant team (i.e. Architect, M&E, C&S, Energy, etc.) to assist in design development and tender preparation including preparation of project cost budget estimates.

  • Lead new engineering technology, construction methodology research and development projects that aim to continuously improve the DC energy and water efficiency, build efficiency, operation productivity and sustainability by lowering PUE, WUE and carbon emission.

  • Design, construct and build green and brown field DCs such as creating development plan, identification of land parcels and site planning, finalising of design with partners, evaluation of power sources, understanding customers’ requirements to ensure on time delivery of the DC.

  • Drive energy, water, waste efficiency along with green power for existing and new DCs.

  • Provide support to recruit top engineering and project management talents by participating in the attraction, shortlisting, and interviewing process.

  • Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and calibre of our engineering and DC development organization.

  • Participate in the strategic planning process with other stakeholders like Product Management, Operations, and Finance to meet the outcomes required by the business leaders, and to collaborate with peers in other business functions to achieve a desired outcome.

  • Lead, mentor and support a highly effective team of project managers, engineering managers and energy managers to foster a high-performance culture.

  • Other relevant duties to the role and responsibilities may be assigned to you from time to time for supporting the business growth of our organization

Job Skill & experience requirement:

  • Min. bachelor’s degree in relevant studies such as Mechanical, Electrical, Project Management, Architecture, etc.

  • Possess at least 15 years of working experience with at least 10 years of relevance in data centre related field involving DC development and engineering works.

  • Experienced in leading a team and people management skills.

  • Strong M&E background with ability to lead design requirement, identify SPOF, oversee engineering fault analysis and ability to solve complex engineering problems such as cooling, power, etc.

  • Possess good communication, presentation and writing skills in English.

  • Possess good financial knowledge to oversee project cost controls and financial management.
