Job summary

GovTech Singapore, the public sector digital transformation agency, is hiring for its Design Practice to raise the quality of design across government services. You’ll help build scalable systems, document best practices, and partner with design leaders to grow shared guidance.

You will shape standards, drive the GovTech-wide design system, and work across teams to measure design quality and impact. Flexible work arrangements apply based on role and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building or contributing to design systems that scale across multiple teams or products.
• Ability to establish standards and create scalable systems across GovTech.
• Experience documenting best practices and creating showcases.
• Strong collaboration with design leads, product teams, and senior leaders.
• Experience shaping tooling decisions, team structures, or practice-level initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Navigate conversations with design leads and product teams to surface gaps, spot wins, and shape what gets standardised.
• Synthesize across teams and document patterns that raise quality.
• Drive the design portal forward as the go-to place for standards, best practices, and learning materials.
• Work on how design quality is measured across the government, building frameworks seen across the community.
• Drive execution on the GovTech-wide design system strategy.

About Design Practice

GovTech’s Design Practice is the central body for growing design across the agency: raising the quality of design, unlocking what design can do for government, and building the design community. The Design Practice is looking for a Designer who sets standards and builds systems that help good work happen across the organisation. You’ll document best practices, create showcases, and partner with the design system team to grow shared guidance. Your work will shape how every designer at GovTech understands and delivers quality.

What you will be working on

• Navigate conversations with design leads and product teams to surface gaps, spot wins, and shape what gets standardised.
• Synthesise what’s working across teams, partnering with design leaders to document and share patterns that raise quality.
• Drive the design portal forward as the place designers go for standards, best practices, and learning materials.

• Ease working across functions and seniority levels, from design leads to practitioners building the work.
• Preferred background: hands-on experience shaping tooling decisions, team structures, or practice-level initiatives.
