Job summary

Borr Drilling is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer focused on designing and developing deck machinery. This role involves overseeing engineering projects from concept to closure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and working closely with vendors and clients. The position requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, including proficiency in design software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working experience in related field required.
• Familiar with industry standards such as ISO, API, ANSI, ASME.
• Knowledge of marine classification society regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop deck machinery including windlass and winches.
• Coordinate all phases of deck machinery engineering projects.
• Review vendor equipment and ensure compliance with class submission.

Job description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:-

• Design and develop hydraulic and electrical driven deck machinery (Windlass, winches and etc)
• Responsible for the general arrangement and structural design including structural analysis using calculation and FEA software
• Review and integrate vendor’s equipment and hydraulic and electrical components
• Coordinate all phases of assigned area deck machinery engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, equipment commissioning, and project closure
• Preparations for equipment and components specification for vendor sourcing
• Coordinate with other internal stack holders, vendors, and clients
• Work closely with the marine certification societies and responsible for class submission and approval
• Lead and participate in process improvements
• Occasionally required to work outside Singapore to attend meetings, site visiting, FAT and commissioning
• Any other job assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:-

• A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field of engineering (Preferably with structural analysis knowledge)
• Experienced engineers with minimum 5 years working experience in related field (Compulsory)
• Experience with designing software such as Autocad, Solid-work and Ansys (Compulsory)
• Knowledge of industry standards such ISO code, API, ANSI, ASME and other well recognized guides
• Familiar with rules and regulations of marine classification societies
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good communication, independent and self-driven
