A leading company in advanced materials engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee design tasks from concept to mass production. The role involves collaboration with engineers and requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ideal candidates will possess strong problem-solving skills and experience in program management.
Job Description:
Responsible for all mechanical design tasks of a given project/product development/job and ensure delivery of the solution according to customers' requirements.
Collaborate with a team of engineers to oversee all aspects of mechanical research and development, from concepts through to mass production.
Understand clients' needs and design innovative and robust mechanisms to meet project/job/product requirements.
Adopt design approaches such as hypothesis generation, project design and planning, calculations, material preparation, characterization and testing, and analysis evaluation.
Initiate market research and propose design modifications to improve user experience: compactness, durability, cost savings, and efficiency.
Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for designed products.
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to ensure design robustness.
Draft 3D designs in CAD software (SolidWorks).
Perform hands-on in-house prototyping for functional and aesthetic validation.
Conduct Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA) for components and products.
Output all relevant files and documentation for suppliers (CAD & Engineering Drawings).
Finalize designs, generate assembly drawings, and process sheets for the Production department.
Develop technical documents and handbooks.
Provide technical advice to the team as needed.
Assist during client acceptance testing at the site.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Willingness to learn and enjoy interacting with people.
Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks is advantageous.
Ability to work hands-on and manage project deliverables independently.
Effective team player.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Prior experience in program management is required.
