Senior Design Engineer (Precast Industry)

Designation: Senior Design Engineer
Department/Section: Design
Reports To: Technical Manager / Director, Technical

Role Summary:

The Senior Design Engineer leads the structural design of complex precast concrete systems, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and coordination across disciplines. This role mentors Design Engineers and plays a key part in optimizing design for production and installation efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design of precast structural systems for large-scale projects, ensuring safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Review and approve structural calculations and shop drawings prepared by junior engineers and drafters.
3. Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues and align design with project requirements.
4. Optimize precast designs for manufacturing, transport, and installation efficiency.
5. Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises to improve constructibility.
6. Mentor and guide Design Engineers and BIM Modelers in technical development and project execution.
7. Support the Technical Manager in developing design standards, templates, and workflows.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, with at least 3 years in precast concrete systems.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, MIDAS, STAAD, Tekla Tedds).
• Strong knowledge of precast detailing, production constraints, and erection methods.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
