Job description

What the role is:

You lead and provide psychological care, as well as develop and implement programmes to maintain and enhance the psychological well-being of MINDEF/SAF servicemen.

What you will be working on:

- Monitor and conduct periodic interviews, including basic counselling and management plans- Support servicemen requiring professional mental health support- Ensure optimal deployment, support, and management of servicemen to maintain psychological readiness- Advise and train commanders and supervisors on managing psychological health challenges in the workplace- Influence policy decisions related to psychological health at the unit level- Work with personnel on a one-to-one basis- Professionally develop junior psychologists under your chargeChallenge(s)- Encouraging servicemen to seek help when in distress- Keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field of psychological health- Maintaining personal mental well-being while dealing with potentially emotionally draining cases

What we are looking for:

- Education in Psychology- At least 6 years of relevant experience- Knowledge of national-level psychological and social services policies and resources is preferred- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills- Ability to interact professionally with external agencies- Independent and innovative thinking- Passion for growing the practice of psychology within MINDEF/SAFOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
