Job summary

jobster private ltd. is seeking a senior database administrator to ensure secure, stable, and high-performing database environments. You will lead design, administration, optimization, and ongoing support across production, test, and development settings.

Responsibilities include monitoring health and capacity, performing upgrades, troubleshooting incidents, implementing DR procedures, and ensuring data security and compliance.

• Responsible for keeping an organization’s database environments secure, stable, high-performing, and available for business-critical applications.
• Lead the design, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise database platforms with cross-functional teams.
• Manage, maintain, and support enterprise database systems in production, test, and development environments
• Monitor database health, performance, storage, availability, and capacity
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migration activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and performance issues
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to protect business data
• Optimise SQL queries, indexing, and overall database performance
• Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Support high availability solutions such as clustering, replication, failover, and standby environments
• Work with application and infrastructure teams to support system integration, deployments, and release activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior DB administrators and project teams
• Participate in on-call support, incident response, and problem management as required
