Job summary

HP in Singapore seeks an experienced Data Scientist to analyze complex data sets, build predictive and prescriptive models, and drive business value through data-driven insights.

The role requires expertise in Python, SQL, Spark and ML, with a focus on scalable end-to-end analytics across diverse business units. You will mentor juniors and lead cross-functional data projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end data science projects, including defining problem statements, developing technical solutions, and driving measurable business outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Leads data mining using modern tools and programming languages.
  • Develops monitoring metrics to reflect real-world model performance and makes recommendations to shape the future direction of models and digital solutions.
  • Delivers predictive and prescriptive models of high complexity to surface insights; drives action, defines success measures and tracks performance of models.
  • Strategizes models to uncover patterns and predictions creating business value and innovation, applying clear, structured approaches to problem definition, data exploration, and solution development.
  • Manages relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data driven innovation, provides domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives, and translates business problems into actionable analytical frameworks.
  • Ties insights into effective visualizations communicating business value and innovation potential, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant insights.
  • Works with development teams and business units to ensure models are scalable and can be implemented as part of the delivered solution, balancing efficient design with practical execution approaches.
  • Writes clean, well-structured and maintainable code that is easily understood and reusable by team members, following best practices in model development and deployment.
  • Leads project team(s) of data science professionals, assuring insights are communicated regularly and effectively, reviewing designs, models and data compliance.
  • Represents the data science team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects, demonstrating strong ownership across the end-to-end lifecycle from problem framing to solution delivery.
  • Provides guidance, training and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
