Duties and Responsibilities

• Familiarize with Ensign’s business domain and objectives to implement cyber security analytics solutions that meet internal business requirements and the needs of industry partners and customers.
• Develop, evaluate, tune, deploy, maintain, and document production-grade data analytics models that provide cyber security insights.
• Work on large volumes of raw, structured, and unstructured data from internet traffic, logs, and other sources using Apache Spark, MPP DB, NoSQL, Hadoop, Scala, Python, Tableau, etc., on a daily basis.
• Evaluate potential solutions related to data analytics and make recommendations to solve business problems.
• Liaise and collaborate with in-house developers, data engineers, big data architects, visualization engineers, and project managers to understand requirements for developing, deploying, and productizing models.
• Ensure analytics models are operating optimally and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Advocate for and implement security best practices.
• Manage technical data science projects and continuously improve workflows and processes.
• Mentor junior data scientists in their technical development.
• Manage and resolve complex technical problems with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in a data science role, preferably in cybersecurity and working with security logs/network data.
• Experience in probability, statistical modeling, machine learning, experimental design, evaluation, and optimization.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience deploying models leveraging cloud resources.
• Proficiency in Scala, Python, Java, Spark, SQL, among others.
• Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and internal.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Proactive, result-oriented, self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Creative problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and dashboarding tools like Tableau.
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, MxNet, Spark, Hadoop, pandas.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying models in big data environments like Hadoop.

Preferred Skills / Qualities

• Experience in Cyber Security or Telco industry is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
