Job Description

The AP Business and Strategy Analytics team is part of the Intelligence and Data Solutions team, that partners with the Asia Pacific Regional President’s Office to enable Visa internal business units to optimize performance and profitability, and make data-driven decisions. The team provides management intelligence to democratize data insights across the organization and strategic analytics to identify opportunities and deep dive on key payment trends and shape the future of payments.

What a Data Science Manager does at Visa

The successful candidate will focus on driving value from Visa’ unique data assets to strengthen and extend Visa’s impact in the payments landscape across Asia Pacific. You will be required to use your business acumen along with analytical skillset to deliver data science projects that solve Visa’s business objectives. Based on findings from data-driven analysis, you will draw fact-based insights and make actionable recommendations that reflect the business and context. You will be required to work with large data sets using quantitative techniques and build complex statistical models that learn from big data and provide data visualization to enable business stakeholders consume the information. Data sets will include, but not limited to, VisaNet transaction data, Visa operational data, and relevant third party data sources. We have a highly collaborative process and you are required to work across multiple teams and functions for leading & developing cutting edge, creative and advanced analytic solutions.

The role reports to Internal Analytics Lead within the AP Business and Strategy Analytics organization, and will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years of analytical expertise in applying various AI solutions to solve business problems
  • Post graduate degree in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in working with real-world data sets and building scalable models from large-scale data
  • Expertise in Generative AI frameworks and libraries, e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, Langraph, llamacpp & OpenAI
  • Proficiency in programming tool and libraries such as SQL, Python, Hive, R, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc
  • Proficiency in data visualization via Tableau, PowerBI, etc
  • Knowledge of statistical and data science techniques such as neural networks,gradient boosting, logistic regression, advanced forecasting techniques, etc

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cards/payments, retail banking, or retail merchant industries is important
  • Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies
  • Results oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
  • Detail oriented and able to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports & data analysis
  • Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and delivery
  • Experience in clearly articulate ideas and analysis to stakeholders
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn
