Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Data Quality Analyst with a strong focus on KYC (Know Your Customer) within the financial services industry. Based in Hong Kong, this role plays a pivotal position in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of client and referential data across multiple territories in the APAC region. The successful candidate will be integral to strengthening data controls and improving data management processes across business units.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for data quality and integrity matters, particularly those concerning data entry from users across 12 APAC markets. Acting as a control tower, you will proactively monitor data quality using preventative and detective controls, perform data reconciliation, manage issues and exceptions, and lead root cause analysis initiatives. A key responsibility is to coordinate with data providers and subject matter experts to support end-to-end process understanding and resolutions.

As the Data Quality Analyst, you will own data requests, data requirements, and oversee the full lifecycle of data quality issues. You will partner with IT and operational teams to identify, categorise, and prioritise technical issues relating to data. Defining the data quality strategy and establishing measurable KPIs will form a crucial part of your remit. Periodic reporting to relevant stakeholders, including the compilation and dissemination of meaningful data quality reports, will be expected.

Your responsibilities also include overseeing remediation projects, drafting comprehensive business requirements, and driving issue escalation through appropriate departmental and governance channels. You will be accountable for creating and maintaining data management artefacts such as data lineage documentation, records of incident investigations, and detailed documentation of recurring issues and their root causes.

You will lead the coordination of remediation effort design and implementation by engaging relevant stakeholders and SMEs, while also managing the user acceptance testing process. Moreover, collaboration with offshore counterparts is vital, particularly for managing audit confirmation activities. These include the processing of physical documentation, translating Chinese to English, addressing queries, and managing the distribution of hard copies via mail or courier.

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of KYC requirements and data governance best practices, combined with excellent analytical and project management capabilities. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
