Job summary

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) seeks a Senior Data Services & AI Engineer to join its Data Services team. You will design, build, and support data pipelines, analytics platforms, and GenAI solutions that enable data‑driven decision making across NTU.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, operational reliability, and real‑world data work under guidance from senior technical leaders. You'll work with data analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business users to clarify requirements,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, or Generative AI solution delivery.
Experience building, deploying, or supporting production data or AI solutions.
Experience working in project teams under senior technical guidance.
Hands-on experience in data and AI engineering (AI-assisted development, RAG, prompt engineering, data pipelines, data integration, and data modelling).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support production systems.

Responsibilities

Design, build, configure and maintain data pipelines, data platforms, and AI components.
Implement analytics and GenAI solutions following patterns, security, and governance requirements.
Contribute to project delivery across design, build, testing, deployment, and operational handover phases.
Support production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
Apply data governance, security, and privacy controls as defined in solution designs and policies.
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business users to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
Continuously develop technical skills and contribute improvement ideas to enhance platforms and processes.
