Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the iCORE Strategic Initiatives team in Singapore. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines, oversee the Snowflake data warehouse, and enforce data quality across ingestion and transformation layers to support high‑impact research dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with ≥2 years in a senior/lead capacity.
• Experience owning end-to-end data architecture for multi-source integrations.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in research/scientific or institutional environments is advantageous.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS/DS/IS-related field.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain data pipeline infrastructure across iCORE data workstreams.
• Migrate transformation logic from Power BI to Snowflake using SQL/dbt.
• Design scalable, version-controlled ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Manage RBAC in Snowflake and align with data governance policies.
• Collaborate with BI analysts to validate transformed data.
• Develop data warehouse models, schemas, and cost controls.
• Establish data quality checks and observability.
• Document data mappings and dictionaries for onboarding.
