Job summary

SimplifyNext, a Singapore-based digital engineering firm, seeks a Data Engineer to design, build and deploy scalable data lakehouse platforms across AWS, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric. You will work with architects, AI engineers and analysts on end-to-end data pipelines and governance.

Responsibilities include building ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing data quality, and enabling AI-ready data for analytics. Strong SQL, Python and cloud data platform experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 4+ years hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development or data platform roles.
• Strong SQL and proficiency in Python (or Scala/Java) for data processing and automation.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Microsoft Fabric or AWS.
• Knowledge of open table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake) and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with DevOps for data (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code).
• Ability to communicate technical designs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on modern cloud data platforms.
• Architect and build data lakehouse solutions with Iceberg/Delta Lake schemas and ACID transactions.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability at enterprise scale.
• Define and maintain automated data quality validation frameworks and monitoring.
• Write production-quality code and deploy solutions on cloud infrastructure (GCC environments).
• Apply DevOps practices for repeatable deployments and infrastructure-as-code.
• Prepare data for AI workloads and support analytics and BI teams.
