Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a data engineer to build and operate data foundations for EconTech and the Enterprise Knowledge Department at MAS. You will design pipelines for structured and unstructured data, ensure metadata and lineage, and support AI-enabled workflows within MAS governance.

You will mobilize data strategy, inventory, and standards, collaborating with economists and data owners to deliver trusted data products across multiple sources while handling revisions and vintages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant quantitative discipline; postgraduate qualifications in Economics or Statistics are an advantage.
• Around 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or statistical systems.
• Experience in central banking, economic policy, official statistics, international organisations or financial-sector research is an advantage.
• Familiarity with macroeconomic datasets and time-series issues such as vintages, seasonal adjustment, frequency conversion, rebasing, nominal vs real values.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate production-grade data pipelines across statistical, licensed, API, database, file and web sources with validation and monitoring.
• Develop reusable data products with clear schemas, lineage, versioning and programmatic access.
• Support AI use cases by developing validation frameworks for LLM-based extraction and safe data access within governance.
