Job summary

Goodnotes is building an AI-native data platform to empower engineers and product teams with reliable analytics at scale. As a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will design pipelines, models, and systems powering analytics, experimentation, and AI-driven product decisions.

You'll work with Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Engineers to create a scalable, observable, and self-serve data platform, leveraging Snowflake, dbt, Iceberg, Kafka, and AWS in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Data Engineer building production-grade data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling experience.
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
• Experience with batch and streaming data infrastructures (Kafka, Confluent, Pulsar).
• Knowledge of data quality, testing, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
• Excellent collaboration across engineering, product, and data teams.
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, ClickHouse, Iceberg is a plus.

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Platform team, you'll help build the next generation of Goodnotes' data infrastructure - a modern, AI-native platform that enables a small team to operate at exceptional scale. Working alongside Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Engineers, you'll design the pipelines, models, and systems that power analytics, experimentation, AI and product decisions across Goodnotes.

You'll help shape both the platform and how we build it, leveraging AI to improve engineering productivity, automate repetitive work and create a data platform that is scalable, reliable and easy for others to use.

This is a hybrid role based in our Singapore office. This position will initially be a 1-year fixed-term contract.

This is the role for you if you're excited to work on:

• Data pipeline engineering: Build reliable, scalable data pipelines and data models that power analytics, experimentation, and AI-driven products.
• Cloud-native platform design: Design a modern data platform using technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Iceberg, and ClickHouse on AWS.
• Real-time data systems: Design and build streaming pipelines and processing systems that power real-time analytics, event processing, and AI-driven products.
• Data quality and reliability: Improve data reliability through testing, monitoring, observability, lineage, and automation.
• Self-service analytics: Enable teams across Goodnotes to discover, understand and consume data independently.
• Leverage AI : Become a more effective engineer and continuously improve how the data platform is built, operated, and maintained.
• Cross-functional partnership: Partner with Product Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to create trusted, high-quality datasets.

The skills you will need to be successful

• Significant experience as a Data Engineer building production-grade data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and experience designing scalable data pipelines and data models.
• Experience designing and operating modern cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
• Experience building batch and streaming data platforms using technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, Apache Pulsar, or similar messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of data quality, testing, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering, product, and data teams.
• A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and a passion for building simple solutions to complex problems.
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, ClickHouse, Apache Iceberg, or modern lakehouse architectures is a plus.
• Experience applying AI to improve engineering productivity and build more intelligent, scalable data platforms is a plus.

• Experience with dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
• Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse.
• Experience with technologies such as ClickHouse , Apache Iceberg , or modern lakehouse architectures.
