About the role

As we continue to grow, Grasshopper seeks a Senior Data Engineer to architect our current data platform in order to tackle new business problems. Our data team plays a crucial role in driving the data-driven decision-making culture in Grasshopper. We leverage GCP to build robust data pipelines, ensure data quality of our products, and provide analytical support to stakeholders across Grasshopper.

Our tech stack: BigQuery, GCS, Apache Beam, Prefect, GKE, dbt, Looker

As a key member of the Data Team, you’ll:

Design and maintain our tick data dataset for multiple exchanges from end to endNew data products and services:
Lakehouse architectureData discoveryExpand our data universe to multiple assets on multiple exchanges globally
Implement data contracts for multiple downstream clientsData quality reliability engineeringMentor and level-up junior members

We’d love for you to have

At least 4-5 years of extensive experience in Data Engineering, with a strong background in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java or ScalaProficiency in cloud platforms and modern data warehousing solutionsExtensive experience with big data processing frameworks and data pipeline orchestration toolsHands-on experience with event brokersA passion for problem-solving and a desire to continuously learn and grow in the field of data engineeringGood thinking and leadership skillsExperience with tick data & financial data vendors
