Job summary

Bank of China Limited Singapore Branch seeks an experienced Database Architect/DBA to design high-availability data architectures and oversee capacity planning. You will manage database operations, develop batch automation tools, and ensure timely data-related tasks, while leading data governance, backups, recovery, and archiving efforts.

Fluent English and Chinese are required to report to Head Office; you will collaborate across teams in Singapore and with HQ to ensure compliant, reliable data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in database management or DevOps, with proficiency in at least two databases.
• In-depth understanding of database principles (transactions, locks, indexes, logs, replication, sharding).
• Proficient in using database performance analysis tools (Explain, slow logs, Profiling) with experience optimizing large-scale data.
• Familiar with Linux and at least one scripting language (Python / Shell).
• DBA-related certifications (OCP, MySQL OCP, TiDB PCTA) are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese to report and collaborate with Head Office.

Responsibilities

• Design data architecture with high availability and capacity planning.
• Develop data batch automation scripts and tools to ensure timely data-related tasks.
• Coordinate data lifecycle management including backups, disaster recovery, and drills.
• Implement data governance strategies such as cleaning, desensitization, and archiving.
• Conduct data analysis work and collaborate with Head Office.
