Job summary

Resorts World Sentosa is seeking a part-time Senior Crew to conduct educational tours and learning journeys at the Singapore Oceanarium. You will deliver public programmes, engage guests, and support overnight camps, including Mandarin sessions when required.

The role focuses on marine education, guest experience, and conservation messaging, with opportunities to contribute ideas for new programmes. Training will be provided, and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Fluent in communicating with guests and students.
• Experience in guiding children or students is advantageous.
• Mandarin-speaking ability is beneficial for Mandarin sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational tours and learning journeys to deepen guest understanding of marine life.
• Facilitate overnight camps and Mandarin-led programmes when needed.
• Engage guests on sustainability and conservation topics with clear messaging.
• Suggest new learning journey ideas and assist with logistics.

Job description

The Senior Crew / Crew conducts and delivers educational tours, public programmes, and learning journeys about animals and habitats in the Singapore Oceanarium.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Educational Tours, Public Programmes and Learning Journeys to allow Guests to have an in-depth learning experience, and provide insightful information about animals and habitats in the oceanarium. This can include programmes conducted in Mandarin.
• Facilitate overnight camps to share fun facts and information about animals in a fun and interactive manner to engage and educate our guests. This can include overnight camps conducted in Mandarin.
• Interact with guests to share information on sustainability and conservational matters, and emphasize the importance of taking care of the environment.
• Contribute ideas to new learning journeys that are being developed.
• Assist in packing of logistical items for all Tours, Programmes and Learning Journeys to ensure smooth execution of all our programmes.
• Provide exceptional guest services by observing safety protocol and upholding service standards.

Requirements:

• GCE O/A Levels and Diploma in any discipline.
• Passion in serving guests.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in engaging children and students (guiding, tutoring, teaching, etc) will be an advantage.
• As some programmes may be conducted in Mandarin, fluency in the Mandarin language would be an advantage to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking guests.
• Passionate about marine animals and environment.
• Knowledge/background in marine biology or marine animals would be useful.
• Confident interacting with large groups of people regarding topics related to marine animals and environment.
• Friendly and approachable.
• Willingness to learn new things.
• Able to commit on weekdays and weekends.
