Job summary

OCBC Group in Singapore seeks a Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our Corporate Banking team. You will evaluate credit applications and make credit decisions for large corporate clients in the TMT sector across our global network, in collaboration with Relationship Managers.

You will monitor market trends and regulatory changes, develop risk mitigations, and provide thought leadership on credit policy. You will coach teammates and drive efficient risk management across portfolios.

Qualifications

  • University degree with extensive credit/banking experience in managing a portfolio of large corporates in the TMT sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG and its impact on corporates in the TMT sector.
  • Solid credit/risk assessment and analytical capabilities with ability to work independently and in a risk team.
  • Good understanding of loan documentation and credit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate credit applications, ratings, and transaction approvals for large corporates in the TMT sector across the bank’s network.
  • Provide credit decisions within lending authority and manage exceptions as needed.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to ensure compliance with credit policy and risk appetite.
  • Monitor developments in the TMT sector and allocate oversight across portfolios and clients.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and advise on early remediation for weak credits.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to relationship managers and team members.

You'll work closely with relationship managers to assess creditworthiness, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. How you succeed To succeed in this role, you'll need to stay up-to-date with market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry developments. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and assess credit risks, and develop effective risk management strategies. Your ability to analyze complex data, think critically, and communicate effectively will be essential in driving business growth while managing risk. What you do* Evaluate credit applications, ratings, and transactional approvals for existing and new large corporates from TMT sector across the Bank’s global network.* Provide credit decisions / approvals on credit propositions/ reviews, temporary excesses and transactional exceptions within authorized lending authority limits.* Work with Relationship Managers to ensure all credit transactions are in accordance with the Bank’s credit policy, credit underwriting standards and risk appetite.* Monitor developments in the TMT sector and maintain proactive oversight of allocated portfolios and clients from a client-specific, sub-sectors and country perspectives. Work closely with business units to identify early warning signs and provide timely & sound credit risk mitigation strategies for potentially weak credits for early remediation.* Perform targeted portfolio reviews in response to events/developments that may have an adverse impact on the overall credit quality of exposures, portfolios and formulate action plans to minimize / manage risks identified.* Provide thought leadership and risk guidance for new business initiatives with a view to develop credit and policy guidelines. Undertake ad-hoc tasks/ projects as may be required from time to time, including active participation in change initiatives to drive efficiency.* Support, coach and mentor relationship managers and team members, fostering a strong and collaborative work environment.Who you are* University degree with at least 15 years of credit with banking experience in managing a portfolio of large corporates within the TMT sector.* Good knowledge of ESG and the impact/opportunities on corporates across the TMT sector.* Strong credit/risk assessment and analytical skills with proven ability to work independently and as part of a credit risk team.* Good understanding of loan documentation and credit processes.* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to clearly articulate and defend credit views to business counterparts and senior management.Who we are As Singapore's longest established bank, we have been dedicated to enabling individuals and businesses to achieve their aspirations since 1932.
