About the role You provide professional counselling for MINDEF/SAF personnel faced with mental health, psycho-social and substance abuse/addiction-related issues.
What you will be working on
Conduct assessments and implement intervention plans
Collaborate with stakeholders for holistic counselling services
Respond to operational duties such as manning the 24-hour SAF Counselling Hotline and facilitating critical incident stress debriefings for MINDEF/SAF servicemen involved in critical incidents
Research counselling-related trends
Train commanders and managers in counselling matters
Challenge(s)
Upholding standards in professional counselling/psychotherapy, and effectively assessing and managing service personnel referred for care and support
Having an adequate knowledge of community resources that help servicemen leverage available resources in the community
What we are looking for
Education in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
At least 2 years of relevant experience
A registered practitioner with the Singapore Association for Counselling, Singapore Association of Social Workers, Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling, or Singapore Psychological Society
