Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Singapore is seeking a Senior/Staff Data Scientist (Computer Vision) to apply image processing, computer vision, and machine learning to solve complex engineering problems.

You will work across languages and frameworks while exploring new technologies to accelerate manufacturing insights. You will design advanced image analysis solutions, collaborate with defect analysis and process development teams, and participate in on-call support for critical manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related analytical field is required.
• Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) with applied research or industry‑relevant experience are preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ hands-on experience applying image processing techniques (e.g., filtering, morphology, segmentation) and visual recognition methods (e.g., feature detection, measurement, classification) for practical engineering applications.
• Proficiency in at least one primary programming language used for production of research workflows (e.g. Python, MATLAB, R) with maintainable code.
• Practical experience using computer vision libraries such as OpenCV and Scikit-image to solve real-world image analysis problems.
• Minimum 2 years working experience developing, training, and validating machine learning/deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Customer focus and relationship-building skills; proven ability to drive results and continuous improvement.
• Excellent foundation in mathematics, probability theory, machine learning, and computer vision.
• Basic knowledge of professional software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced image processing and analysis solutions to extract measurements and analyze image data.
• Apply computer vision, image processing, and machine learning techniques to solve engineering problems.
• Collaborate with defect analysis, electrical failure analysis, process development, and other diagnostic teams.
• Develop solutions that improve engineering efficiency and enable innovation using modern vision technologies.
• Work within a global team and contribute to continuous learning and improvement.
• Assist with rotational on-call support during critical manufacturing incidents or outages.
