Job summary

ByteDance’s Infrastructure Engineering team in Singapore builds and operates hyperscale data center infrastructure, spanning public/private clouds, data centers and CDNs. You will develop tools, automation, and monitoring to support scalable and reliable services.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Unix/Linux systems, experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Google/OCI), and strong scripting or programming skills. Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Programming & Systems Analysis, or Science (Computer Studies).
• 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell, with libraries, filesystems, and client-server protocols.
• 5+ years experience with essential system-level apps like DNS, APT, LDAP, Nginx, CI/CD, Ansible, Packer.
• 3+ years experience in Java, C++, Go, or scripting in Shell and Python.
• Self-driven, able to handle ambiguity and move projects from concept to delivery.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve real-world problems in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience designing and building automation and tools for large-scale systems and cloud solutions (AWS, Google, OCI).

Responsibilities

• Build, expand, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructures, including large-scale systems in public and private clouds, data centers, and content delivery networks.
• Build tools, automation, visualizations, and monitors to facilitate operation and optimization of the global infrastructure.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and participate in technical operations and rotations for performance and reliability issues.
• Improve the lifecycle of infrastructure services from inception to deployment and user support.
• Deploy and configure cloud solutions.
• Automate cloud operations and infrastructure scripts, contributing to continuous improvement of cloud solutions.
• Participate in Proof of Concepts and demonstrations of cloud solutions.
• Administer and maintain servers across virtual platforms.
