Job summary

Rakuten Viki is seeking a Senior Engineer in Singapore to join the Site Reliability Engineering team. You will help build and operate the platform powering Viki's large-scale, distributed systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency, reporting to the SRE Manager.

You will collaborate with developers, drive incident management, capacity planning, SLOs, and automate infrastructure with IaC, while embedding security and FinOps practices across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineering.
• Experience in backend development.
• Solid OS concepts (Linux/Unix) and basic networking.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes; cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Interest in applying AI to operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with developers to build infrastructure abstractions.
• Drive Incident Management, Capacity Planning and SLO definition.
• Automate infrastructure tasks with Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop tools and AI agents to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure non-functional requirements like security, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor junior team members and represent SRE in planning.
• Be on call to ensure platform reliability.
